WARWICK GROUP SECURES $4.85 MILLION FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS IN FY24 THUD APPROPRIATIONS BILL

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C., March 9, 2024 – Warwick Group Consultants, the nation’s leading coastal advocacy firm, has secured $4.85 million in funding from the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bills during the Fiscal Year 2024 budget process. This funding will be used to support two critical west coast projects including:

  • $4,000,000 for the City of North Bend, OR for an affordable workforce housing project
  • $850,000 for the City of Solana Beach, CA to complete traffic calming and multi-modal improvements along Lomas Santa Fe Drive

The City of North Bend is rapidly expanding in preparation for a major port expansion. This funding allows the City to demolish the old Coos County annex and construct affordable workforce housing for critically needed workers in education, public safety, logistics, and the healthcare industry.

The City of Solana Beach is undertaking major multi-modal and traffic calming improvements to Lomas Santa Fe Drive, the primary east-west corridor through the City. Warwick Group helped kick off the project by securing $7,000,000 in FY22 to complete the eastern portion of the project.

Founded in 1986, Warwick Group Consultants is the nation’s leading coastal advocacy firm, helping coastal communities and nonprofit organizations secure federal policies and funding to address erosion, sea level rise, and climate change.
